It’s Thursday! Let’s go back in time a little, what say you?
Once again I’m going to thank my good friend Lana from Dirty Girl Romance Blog.I Do you have trustee recommenders? Well I do, and this chick is probably the bestest. Probably because she has read so many books already and i came to the romance world a little late, but mostly because she has great taste and is the only one I could give the Picky French reader stamp of approval. So thanks Lana, for sending great book recommendations for over 2 years now!
(BTW, Lana is celebrating her 2 years blog anniversary tomorrow on FB and on her blog with some awesome giveaways… #hint***signed paperbacks***hint# )
Last year on July 30th I was discovering the wonderful world of Psy-Changelings by Nalini Singh and I’m thrilled to say that she is the best I’ve read so far in this genre. No one has yet to come even close to her world building genius.
I would love for you to play along and share in the comments which book you were reading same time, last year!
Would you re-read it? Have your tastes evolved since? Or was it an all time favorite?
In a world that denies emotions, where the ruling Psy punish any sign of desire, Sascha Duncan must conceal the feelings that brand her as flawed. To reveal them would be to sentence herself to the horror of “rehabilitation”–the complete psychic erasure of everything she ever was…
Both human and animal, Lucas Hunter is a Changeling hungry for the very sensations the Psy disdain. After centuries of uneasy coexistence, these two races are now on the verge of war over the brutal murders of several Changeling women. Lucas is determined to find the Psy killer who butchered his packmate, and Sascha is his ticket into their closely guarded society. But he soon discovers that this ice-cold Psy is very capable of passion–and that the animal in him is fascinated by her. Caught between their conflicting worlds, Lucas and Sascha must remain bound to their identities–or sacrifice everything for a taste of darkest temptation…
I most certainly enjoyed Psy Changelings a lot more than I thought I would! It was a fantastic dive into paranormal romance. Nalini Singh excels at world building and I literally ate every words and tremendously enjoyed picturing all the different races and places Psy Changeling offers.
It was a clever mix of suspense, romance with some truly steamy moments and action. I remember binging on 3 or 4 books in a row after this one. Every book pulls you in even further.
One of the best paranormal romance series out there, for sure.
