Old School Romance Read Along : Harlequin Presents
So. It appears I’ve been missing out on an entire romance chapter my whole life.
I came to romance on the late and never read an old school Harlequin, Mills and Boons or whatever your source of romance was decades ago.
My friend Geri from Dirty Girl Romance Book Blog, fortunately read her fair share in her teenage years (it helped she stumbled upon her aunt’s hidden stash of romance when she was 12) and could recommend a few to me. In May, we’re going OLD SCHOOL!
I thought I’d propose you guys something fun, if you enjoy your old school Harlequins, or just want to hop on and partake in a buddy read of sorts!
-For the entire month of May, each week, I’ll be proposing 2 books from Geri‘s favorites. On my facebook page we”ll vote for the one we want to read the most by leaving a comment.
– On April 28th to May 3rd, we live-read (read-along, buddy read) the book with the most votes (“live reading” means you come by the thread, and comment as you read along, starting each comment with the percentage/page number you’re at —EX : @25% : I can’t believe she could do this to him!—)
-At the end of the read, I’ll pick a winner for a $4.99 giftcard. (From the facebook thread comments. We have a week to read the book, most are under 200 pages)

The Marriage Mistake!
Leah’s marriage to powerful Greek businessman Nik Andreakis was an empty sham, and she was determined to get a divorce. But Nik didn’t want one. In the circumstances, Leah found that totally unbelievable. Why would he want to hang on to a wife he’d been blackmailed into marrying!
Leah’s lonely wedding night had set the pattern for the past five years, but now she couldn’t sleep for wondering what motivated her husband. Why, all of a sudden, was he making advances to her when he had ignored her for so long? (192 pages)
“When Greek billionaire Dimitri Petronides is forced to give up Xandra Fortune, his beautiful mistress, he’s certain she won’t be too distraught. For all the intense passion they’ve shared, she’s never let him into her heart, and such a commitment-shy woman could never be his wife….
But after their split Dimitri discovers that Xandra Fortune is not who he thought she was–and she is also pregnant with his child. Now he has to track her down and claim his mistress as his wife!” (192 pages)
