Book Infos

How many times can you be unlucky in love before you decide it’s not luck, it’s you?
I’m in love with someone else. With her ex-groom’s words still ringing in her ears, Clare Franklin flies off alone to her would-be honeymoon. Forced to accept not everyone gets that happily ever after she’s always dreamed of, she’s done with men. Until she gets tangled up, quite literally, with one sexy veterinarian.

The only thing Dr Deacon Montgomery wants is to share his surgical expertise and get back to his two year old twin daughters. But, the connection he feels with Clare highlights just how alone he really is and makes him wonder if he can be more than doctor and daddy.

Long talks and moonlit walks under the rustle of palms has Clare thinking maybe she gave up on love too soon. Until one phone call from home changes everything.

My Review

All my feels… safe with Claudia Connor’s lovely stories. If you have an hankering for the single parent’s trope, look no further, she’s it.
Strong heroine overwhelmed by a unexpected turn of events, in need for a strong shoulder to lean on. Enter the ever so dreamy hero, charming and attentive lover, gentle and caring with children, the perfect family man. Little to no angst, a really sweet sweet tale.

I’ve almost read Love At Last in one sitting, save for this important appointement I had today.
From the moment Clare got tangled with Deacon, I’ve been hooked and couldn’t stop reading. The meet cute was adorable and I most definitely lived the island hookup fantasy through Clare’s and Deacon story.
Both had an amazing connection, almost too good to be true and then Deacon must depart in haste leaving Clare behind, hurt and determined to protect herself from men who come to love her and leave her so easily.
Fast forwards a few months ahead, Clare and Deacon are reunited under unexpected—but predictable— circumstances that I felt a little far fetched and I want to say cliché, but I still enjoyed the pattern the author based their story on.

There’s definitely something cozy and heart warming about Claudia Connor’s stories. The romance is sweet and sexy and probably what is defined as “insta-love”, her representation of the family dynamics, single-parenthood are spot-on, the way she writes such sweet and cute kids is truly endearing. All in all she writes the kind of romantic fantasy that just appeals to me, crosses all my boxes and warms my heart and I can’t get enough of her stories.
