BOOK REVIEW⎜Tycoon By Katy Evans

MY RATING

The only compliment I can give to this book is about the cover. (Yes I’m that shallow.)

Book Infos

He wasn’t always this rich. This hot. This difficult.
Aaric Christos was a guy who protected me. Wanted me. Maybe even loved me.
That man is gone.
In his place is the most powerful real estate tycoon in the city.
He’s a cold, ruthless, aggressive businessman.
The only one who can save me and my startup from ruin.
It takes every ounce of courage to put my pride aside and ask for his help.
I didn’t expect him to offer it easily.
And he doesn’t.
Instead, he vets me harder than he’s vetted anyone.
Don’t invest in what you don’t know, he says.
He’s assessing every piece of me, to the point I’ve never felt so bare.
I yearn for the boy I once knew, whose touch once craved me.
Putting it all on the line will be worth it, I tell myself.
Until I realize—too late—that some risks are not worth taking.

My Review

I had to quit reading at 41% but my guess is I would give this one 1 star only based on what I’ve read.

Nothing positive to say about this book except for the fact that the man on the cover made me do it.
Every once in a while I like a good old billionaire romance, clueless girl maybe, you know the real cliché of billionaires tropes! I would swoon over how despite his cold appearance and arrogant demeanor the hero has eyes only for *this girl*…
Well it seems like I had eyes only for that *damn* cover model and was already fantasizing about our pretend love affair…
Yeah you, hot cover model, I fully blame you for making me pick this book last night! Love affair was all but forgotten within a few pages in the book because the writing style was so choppy I couldn’t get into it. I remember enjoying the Real series by this author a few years ago and I know she published several other books since then, so why Tycoon had such an amateurish feel to it?

The dialogues were inconsistent and irrelevant most of the time and the abrupt changes between scenes and new chapters made it really hard for me to faint any interest in Bryn renewed lust over a man she lost contact with years ago. *hint* He has money now.*hint*

The characters were totally lifeless and devoid of personality, and no, make an attractive man growl, brood or give hot looks isn’t enough for me to find him *interesting*.
Though maybe I was supposed to fall head over heels at this :

Your smell does shit to me,

Aaric Christos lip curls, intent stares, winking game and cock imprint were a total loss on me, you can have him, ladies.

Author Bio & Links

Katy Evans grew up with books and book-boyfriends until she found a real sexy boyfriend to love. They married and are now hard at work on their own happily ever after. Katy loves her family and friends, and she also loves reading, walking, baking, and being consumed by her characters until she reaches “The End.” Which is, hopefully, only the beginning…
