BOOK REVIEW⎜The Red by Tiffany Reisz

MY RATING

The Red was pure decadent porn wrapped up in a pretty package. And that’s not remotely a bad thing. At all.

Book Infos

Never make a promise you don’t intend to keep…

Mona Lisa St. James made a deathbed promise that she would do anything to save her mother’s art gallery. Unfortunately, not only is The Red painted red, but it’s in the red. She soon realizes she has no choice but to sell it.
Just as she realizes she has no choice but to sell it, a mysterious man comes in after closing time and makes her an offer: He will save The Red if she agrees to submit to him for the period of one year.
The man is handsome, English, and terribly tempting…but surely her mother didn’t mean for Mona to sell herself to a stranger. Then again, she did promise to do anything to save The Red…

My Review

This book is all around smut galore. If I needed something to define what smut is, I would point out to THE RED. My kindle now has a book I would happily define as “spank bank material”(and the 40 highlights or so will be pretty convenient… one day.)
The Red was pure decadent porn wrapped up in a pretty package. And that’s not remotely a bad thing. At all.

So this is your warning, first time reading Erotica? I would suggest baby steps, I know many romance readers read the Fifty books… Well, we’re 50 levels above in term of twisted and dirty. Forget the steam, it’s crude, it’s obscene, it’s scandalous, it’s graphic and it’s downright FILTHY.
The Red has got to be the filthiest book I’ve ever read and I’ve read a whole fucking lot. So what? I can hear you asking, is this book is just porn?

No it’s not, if you’re acquainted with Miss Reisz previous work and specifically her The original Sinners series, then you know she can write the dirtiest stuff and at the same time keep you enthralled with a refined and meticulous character’s development and a fascinating storyline—and inversely—.

The Red is no exception to this and Tiffany Reisz keeps the reader riveted and wanting to know how Mona and her stranger’s story is going to end. I won’t give any hint to the story or spoiler here, but if you wanted to know how twisted a mind Nora Sutherlin from TOS had, then by all means, dive into The Red, dive into her twisted fantasy .

I enjoyed my time suspended in a world of arts, mistery and female desire, and feel now completely lustful.

If this is your first time considering reading a book by this author, I would recommend you try the TOS series first though. As a matter of fact I would recommend this book to seasoned erotica readers not afraid of pushing up their boundaries.

G, it’s a playful smutty book. I really enjoyed it, the writing was good and made me devour the story in less than a day. I hope you’ll enjoy when you get to it. 🙂
